Air
Conditioner Provides Simplified Controlled
Environment For Mobile Shelter Applications
After
extensive field service, proving both concept and basic design, a
new 2nd generation unit has been designed and tested to
incorporate features found to be desirable after extensive combat
experience.
Previously,
the AN/TSM-60 shelter utilized 2 different PAC Air Conditioners,
(1 right hand). The new design allows the use of 2 identical units
which are presently in use in the following transportable
electronic shops, simplifying provisioning and field repairs.

The
PAC-2 is a rugged, lightweight unit, dependable in extreme
environments.
|

|
Designed
and tested to meet the rugged requirements of Mil std 810, the 2nd
generation PAC Air Conditioner is a compact, rugged full military
unit, capable of continuous reliable operation in combat areas
throughout the world. Its lightweight construction provides easy
handing and low speed components provide years of trouble-free,
whisper-quiet operation.
Both
HD-751/G and HD-764/U have been provisioned by the Marine Corps,
providing full military back-up through-out the world.

The
PAC Air Conditioners are equipped with several unusual features
which make them ideal for portable shelter use, and for use on
portable or marginal power supplies. Among these features are:
1.
Motors are step-started to avoid line surges.
2.
Compressors run continuously, using IMPAC Company´s
exclusive hot gas, bypass systems.
3.
Thermostatic control of cooling.
