Designed
to stringed Military Specifications -for the United States. Navy, this model
MAC 20-S8 air conditioner is being used in a
group of mobile vans on the Pacific Missile Range and
at similar sites throughout the world.
As
shown in the photo at right, the unit was mounted in
the rear of the van and designed to operate with the
rear access doors closed –discharging the condenser
air through louvers in the doors. (Normally
this unit is designed to operate with doors open.)
With the doors closed, condenser air is taken in
through the floor of the trailer, aft of the running
gear. Fresh air for normal and emergency operation
enters the van through the side louvers.

This installation shows the MAC unit using a ceiling supply duct air distribution system , which delivers the conditioned air through the length of the van. Return air is allowed to flow through the van. Return air is allowed to flow through the van interior and return to the air conditioner by way of return air openings in the rear side of the MAC unit. These return air openings mate with similar openings in the partition that separates the air conditioner from the conditioned space. The simplicity of this system assures excellent air distribution for operator comfort and instrument protection on critical applications.
