IMPAC ON THE JOB |

Using a Standard Model MAC 20-2 air conditioner, this Instrument Landing System Van provides continuous flight information to aircraft making "hands-off" ILS approaches and landings. The air conditioner for this electronics laden van was designed for maximum reliability under all weather conditions.
The unit is mounted in the standard "rear mount" position and operated with access doors open (arrangement #1). The air conditioner is operational twenty-four hours a day despite exposure to all extremes of weather. |

AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM |

MAC 20-2 |
This installation shows the MAC unit using a ceiling supply duct air distribution system , which delivers the conditioned air through the length of the van. Return air is allowed to flow through the van. Return air is allowed to flow through the van interior and return to the air conditioner by way of return air openings in the rear side of the MAC unit. These return air openings mate with similar openings in the partition that separates the air conditioner from the conditioned space. The simplicity of this system assures excellent air distribution for operator comfort and instrument protection on critical applications.
